China Greentech Initiative Launches First Report on China's Greentech Market Potential

The China Greentech Initiative launched its first analysis on the green technology market in China, The China Greentech Report 2009, at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2009. This study, nine months in the making, unearths the huge, untapped potential of China's greentech markets, estimating that the total potential addressable market size for greentech solutions could be up to US$1 trillion annually, or roughly comparable to 15% of China's forecasted GDP in 2013.

The 160 page Executive Version of the Report will be available, starting at 2:30 pm, Thursday, September 10, 2009 (China time), in PDF format at www.china-greentech.com/report.

The China Greentech Report 2009 is designed to be a starting point to help leaders make informed decisions on China's greentech market opportunities and challenges, and to serve as the basis for the ongoing rich, constructive dialogues aimed at accelerating progress toward an environmentally sustainable China.

To that end, we invite people to join in the interactive discussion at China Greentech Initiative's online community. Registration is free, and takes just a few moments at www.china-greentech.com/user/register. We look forward to interacting with you.

Electric Power Infrastructure:

I am wondering whether I can ask company specific questions here. Let's go for it. In my opinion the Electric Power Infrastructure market in China is indeed yet to start of. Wondering which Western companies would be able to get their share of the market. I just read that with regard to the High Speed Infrastructure (Trains) China stated all the necessary technology is already available in the PRC. Will this kind of thinking also influence Foreign Investors bringing in talent and technology? In this case I also refer to the entrance of American Superconductor in China (which I personnaly belive have a great future in front of them).
What are your thoughts out there?
