Research Resources for The China Greentech Report
Research for The China Greentech Report 2009 is led by Randall Hancock and Ellen Carberry of MangoStrategy, LLC, who together bring 40 years of collective experience in founding and growing high-value companies that commercialize research. They are joined by a team of strategic research analysts based in Asia and the U.S. who are responsible for collecting information, conducting primary research, analyzing results and writing the report.
Ellen G. Carberry is simultaneously a Partner with Beijing-based HAO Capital. HAO Capital, a private equity firm, invests growth capital in mid-market, private companies in China. HAO is not involved with the Report. Carberry brings two decades of experience in commercializing new IT products and services in Asia, China and the U.S., of which the last six years have been based in Beijing. Previously, she was the Vice President of Business Development, Asia Pacific for Red Hat, the leader in open source software. For Red Hat, she launched the Greater China business and established and led the OEM AP sales from IBM, Intel and Lenovo. Her experience also includes founding and leading IBM China’s outsourced services for China’s Financial Services Sector. Prior to IBM, she founded and led sales and business development at Mainspring, a venture-backed e-commerce professional services firm acquired by IBM in 2001. She also led business development for the Ziff-Davis Online Network, later acquired by AT&T Business Services, and was a regional sales manager for IBM’s Financial Services Sector in the U.S. She graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in economics and literature.
Randall S. Hancock is the President and CEO of MangoStrategy, LLC, a global strategic research. Hancock brings 20 years of experience leading, managing and participating in strategic research, consulting and information organizations. Previously he was the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Global Research for Institutional Shareholder Services, the world’s leading proxy advisory firm, where he also managed the firm’s Asian offices. His experience also includes founding and leading the IBM Institute for Business Value, IBM’s global business thought leadership development group, with research teams based in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. Previously he led the research and consulting businesses at Mainspring, a venture-backed e-commerce professional services firm acquired by IBM in 2001. He also founded and led the Gemini Strategic Research Group, now part of Cap Gemini, was a strategy consultant for the MAC Group, and a financial analyst at Smith Barney. He graduated with Distinction from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and has an A.B. in economics from Harvard University.
